HIGH SCHOOL TO COLLEGE

One of the most difficult transition from high school to college is the atmosphere for learning and studying.  Also, there is a level of autonomy that has never been experienced before.  Most students have the self-discipline to make the adjustment without too much difficulty.  Many colleges and universities require students to attend a learning experience and/or orientation course their first semester to assist with their adjustment to college.  Students should not be afraid to ask for help if they need it.  Also, find activities you enjoy and take time for yourself to de-stress. 

FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS PRESENTATION

Completing the FAFSA, filling out the CSS Profile, if required, and applying for scholarships can be a difficult and confusing process for students and parents.  Many students need assistance with applications, essays and their scholarship search.  There is a difference between loan types and grants that a student is eligible for  How do students and parents negotiate for a better financial aid package?  Do I qualify for special circumstances?  Our presentation will help answer these important questions.

Students planning to enter the workforce from high school develop their career readiness from career pathways learned in high school.  Careers assessments utilized throughout middle school and high school can lead to the strongest path for a student.  Industry strands and in-demand occupations can place a student in a field with the highest level of success.
